Alumni membership in the CSPS is open to any retired patroller who spent five or more years in the System as an active patroller.
The intention of the Alumni association is to keep retired patrollers in touch with the current activities throughout the System and also to allow retired patrollers to take advantage of the Pro deals that have been made available to members.
Anyone who registers will automatically receive electronic copies of the Ski Patroller News through their email address to keep you informed of the goings–on across Canada. And for the small price of $5.00 you will receive an Alumni membership card that has no expiry date and can be used as proof of membership when making purchases from any of the retailers that provide us with Pro deals and other incentives.
There is also a Ski Patrol Reunion ski trip that is held every year, where both active and retired patrollers get together to ski and reminisce about their days in the patrol. This trip is usually held in late January or early February and to date it has been held in western Canada to take advantage of the snow and the mountains. The price of the trip is extremely competitive, if not better than most ski vacations and you get to ski with some very interesting people.
The real strength of an Alumni association is at the local level and so while we are registering people on a National system we are also encouraging patrols and Zones to get involved with and to formalize an Alumni group at that level. Our current information gathering process does not allow us to group retired patrollers by their last assigned patrol or Zone but we are working on that.
So if you still yearn to make some turns or just to find out who is still making them sign up today and start your second life in the Canadian Ski Patrol System as an Alumnus.
